2019 Summer Leagues:
Co-Ed and Open Summer Leagues:
Thursday evenings at 6:15 PM
First game: May 30
End of Season Tournament: Saturday, August 17
Location: James Island County Park
The Co-Ed Division has no cap on the number of teams this summer, however the limiting factor is the number of women who register for the League. In an effort to drive gender parity on the field this summer, Co-Ed division teams will have as close to an equal number of ladies and guys as possible.
Only men who are buddied with a female player are guaranteed entry into the Co-Ed Division.
Any men who register for Co-Ed without a female buddy will be placed into a random lottery for any remaining slots. All others will be added to Open Division Registration and drafted onto an Open team. Don't fret, Open and Co-Ed Divisions will play on the same fields at the same time.
What does "Open" mean? - While open teams almost always consist of men only, women are allowed to compete in this division, thus making it “open” to both men and women.
Why is Co-Ed league preference given to men with female buddies? - We are working to encourage more females to join the sport. Often the best way to recruit and retain new ladies is through friendships with other players and so we want to give priorities for the male friends who’ve encouraged them to come out to be on their team. Female friends who recruit are also awesome and important and they will have no issue getting into the league - the more women the better!
